Box Score Men's Soccer Falls to #23 St. Scholastica
DULUTH, Minn. – The No.23 St. Scholastica men's soccer team defeated Bethany 2-0 at Saints Field on Saturday in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game.
St. Scholastica proved Saturday against the Vikings why they are ranked #23 in Division III soccer. The Saints did not allow Bethany a shot on goal during the first half of play. The Saints broke the scoring drought in the 19
th minute to take a 1-0 lead over the Vikings. Minutes later, St. Scholastica added another goal off a penalty kick to put the Saints up 2-0. That would cap off the scoring, as the Saints would defeat the Vikings 2-0.
The Vikings attempted three shots in the second half compared to CSS 13. Bethany's
Matt Bitter (Bemidji, Minn.) faced 13 shot on the afternoon, saved 11 of the shots.
On Monday, October 19
th the Vikings (4-10-2, 3-4-1) will travel to Gustavus Adolphus for a non-conference game starting at 3:30 p.m.
