Men's Soccer Opens Conference Play at Crown

MANKATO, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team (6-2 overall) travels to face Crown (2-7) Saturday at 2 p.m. to being the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) portion of its schedule.

The Series
The Storm hold the narrow lead at 12-11-5, though BLC won the nonconference game, 5-0, earlier this season on Sept. 10. The teams have met at least once every season since 2004.

The Vikings enter the weekend on a school-record five-game winning streak.

Freshman Max Busch (Odenthal, Germany) leads the team with 10 goals for 20 points. Classmate Joao Bastos (Piracicaba, Brazil) follows with six goals and senior Samuel Duran (Marshall, Minn.) has four. Freshman Luke Oosterbosch (Veldhoven, The Netherlands) has a team-best 11 assists.

Senior Moritz Bruns (Leer, Germany) has a .840 save percentage and 0.83 goals against average.

Career Record Watch
Bruns is tied for fifth in goalkeeper wins (5) and ninth in saves (88). Senior Samuel Duran (Marshall, Minn.) is seventh in goals (14) and points (34). Classmate Jonny Sehloff (Mankato, Minn.) is tied for eighth in goals (12) and tied for ninth in points (27).

Busch is tied for ninth in goals (10) and tied for seventh in game-winning goals (3). Oosterbosch is tied for fourth in assists (11).

Oosterbosch is the single season record holder in assists (11) and he and Busch are tied for sixth with one PK. Busch is tied for fourth with three game-winning goals, tied for second in goals (10) and tied for fourth in points (20).
