BECKER, Minn.---The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Men's Golf Championship will begin Thursday at Pebble Creek Golf Club with the University of Wisconsin-Superior in search of its fourth-consecutive title. Competition begins Thursday, Oct. 7 and wraps up after 54 holes Saturday, Oct. 9 with the winning team earning UMAC champion status and the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Championship set for May 2022.

Here's some of the key information to know before play begins Thursday:
2020-21 Championship Highlights
- The UMAC Championship was held in the spring for the first time ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Wisconsin-Superior won a third-straight UMAC title by a total of 63 strokes. This is the team's largest margin of victory in that time span.
- Ryan Peterson collected his second medalist finish in a row with a final score of 211 (-5) that ranks the best in UMAC Championship history. He won the event by 14 strokes.
- The Yellowjackets had three players finish in the top five with all four scorers placing in the top 10.
- North Central University made the biggest jump in the standings from the previous year finishing eighth in 2019 to fourth in 2020-21.
2021 Season Highlights
- North Central won the UMAC Preview by five strokes over Wisconsin-Superior. This was the first win for the Rams since 2011 at the Preview and just the second in program history.
- Four different UMAC players have combined to shoot eight rounds below par this season.
- Seven different UMAC schools currently have at least one player ranked in the top-15 in UMAC scoring avg.
