BECKER, Minn. - The Bethany men's golf team took second place at the UMAC Championships on Saturday at Pebble Creek. The Vikings finished the three-day event with a final score of 309-307-303-919 (+55), which was six strokes behind the winner UW-Superior.Â
For the second consecutive season, Keaton Ginter finished runner up after carding a 74-73-76-223 (+7). Ginter tied UW-Superior's Andrew Rude and Andrew Slatten at 223, but Rude won the playoff on the 10th hole. Julian Bhardwaj finished sixth with an 80-73-78-231. August Waxin tied for seventh at 80-79-73-232, and Victor Geijerman rounded out the scoring, tying for 15th with an 82-82-76-240. Tyson Wicklund was unfortunately disqualified in the second round for a scoring mistake. Wicklund carded a 75 in round one and an 86 in round three.Â
The Viking women did not qualify as a team since they competed with just three individuals. Lydia Schmid led the way with a 96-87-88-271, finishing in 12th place. Flora Wegner finished 17th at 101-91-106-298 and Kennedy Halper took 28th at 130-106-117-353.Â
