MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team will head north this weekend as they play Wisconsin foes Northland and UW-Superior. The Vikings (9-2-3, 6-1-1 UMAC) take on Northland (5-5-4, 4-1-3 UMAC) Friday at 1 p.m. before heading to Superior (8-2-2, 6-0-2 UMAC) on Saturday for a 2 p.m. match. The two matchups will feature the top three teams in conference as UWS has 20 points, BLC has 19, and NC has 15 thus far.
Bethany LutheranÂ
The Vikings head into Friday's contests coming off of two straight 4-0 wins over Crown and Martin Luther. The Vikings are led through 14 games by UMAC points leader Antonio Lima who has 11 goals and seven assists for 29 points, with his seven assists also being tops in conference. Behind Lima, a plethora of other Bethany players have scored multiple points with 21 others registering at least one this season. Agostino Quadrio Curzio is the nearest to Lima with nine on two goals and five assists, while Tomas Abreu and Andre Silva have eached added eight points. The Vikings have played a trio of goalies in net thus far with the group combining for 47 saves while allowing 13 goals for a save percentage of .783.
UW-Superior
The Yellowjackets enter as the only team ahead of the Vikings in the standings, most recently tying with Northland on Tuesday. Blake Perry is the conference leader in goals thus far with 12, while he trails only Lima in points with 26. Phillip Eriksen has also been a big-time goal scorer for the Jackets as he's third in the conference thus far with seven goals for 14 points. Alex Paredes has been the teams primary keeper, notching 27 saves while allowing nine goals for a save percentage of .750.Â
Northland
The LumberJacks are entering in the contest off two straight ties to Northwestern and UW-Superior. One of the most competitive teams in the UMAC, every conference game other than the 5-0 loss to Bethany earlier this season, has been a one goal game for Northland. They're led offensively by Izaak Clarke who has five goals and one assist for 11 points in just nine games played. Quinn Bieber has also been solid for the Jacks, totaling seven points on two goals and three assists. Jamie Colvill has started 13 matches in net thus far, with 69 saves and 27 goals allowed for a save percentage of .719
