Men's Soccer Takes Decisive Win Over Rams

Box Score MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team concluded their regular season with a 5-0 win over North Central on Saturday afternoon. With the win the Vikings move to 14-3-3 overall and 11-2-1 in the UMAC while the Rams fall to 6-12-1 overall and 4-9-1 in the conference.

It didn't take long for the Vikings to get going in this one, as Ben Klausen notched his second goal of the season just four minutes in with an assist going to Raheem Graham. Gijs van Eldik then checked into the game in the 12th minute and was able to score for the Vikings just 10 minutes later, finding the top left corner of the net for his second goal of the year. With time winding down in the first half, Antonio Lima then decided to get in on the scoring action with 45 seconds remaining in the half with an assist going to Agostino Quadrio Curzio. 

They started the second half faster than the first as Jamie Smith notched a goal just 14 seconds into the second half. Smith wasn't done there though as he was able to score again in the 51st minute with an assist to Dylan Ortiz to give Bethany a 5-0 lead. Nick Lundberg got the start in net and played 64 minutes making four saves while Francisco Vilarinho held down net duties the last 26 minutes.

The Viking will host a UMAC semifinal contest next Wednesday at a time to be determined.
