HUTCHINSON, Minn. – Jake Swanson continues to impress for the Bethany Lutheran men's golf team as the sophomore fired off an even par 71 to win medalist honors at the Viking Invite. The Bethany Lutheran men finished in fourth place with a team score of 333 (+49) while the women finished in seventh with a 435 (+151).
Swanson got out to a slow start, double bogeying the first hole and carding a bogey on the next two before catching fire. After playing his first three holes 4-over, he would play his last 15 at 4-under to shoot even on the day and earn medalist honors.
Keaton Ginter and
Teien Murphy were the next two Vikings to score as they carded scores of 82 (+11) and 87 (+16), respectively.
Eli Wetzel and
Arturo Fraile Beltran rounded out the Bethany scoring with Wetzel shooting 93 (+22) and Beltran firing a 94 (+23).
On the women's side,
Jordan Smith  had a solid day for Bethany shooting a career low 99 (+28) to finish in 17
th place overall.
Isabella Garza was next in scoring for Bethany with a 108 (+37) while
Isabella Garza shot a 111 (+40). Rounding out the scoring were
Chloe Madson and
Kylie Franzen with scores of 117 (+46) and 125 (+54), respectively.
Bethany will be back in action tomorrow at the MLC Invite.
