MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran men's golf team competed in a pair of events this weekend. They first claimed a second place finish Friday at the BLC Invite in at Crow River Golf Club, before a fifth place finish Saturday at the MLC Invite at Oakdale Golf Club.
Bethany had a very well rounded event on Friday, taking second place with a team score of 316 which trailed only Northwestern who shot 308. The team was led by the duo of
Keaton Ginter and
Jakob 'Jake' Swanson who each shot 77 (+6) on the day.
Arturo Fraile Beltran and
Teien Murphy weren't far behind with 81 (+9), while
Eli Wetzel rounded out the scoring with an 82 (+10).Â
Friday Results
On Saturday, the Vikings shot 322 as a team with Northwestern winning the event at 303. Ginter once again led the Vikings with a score of 73 (+1), while Swanson fired off another 77 (+5).
Matthew Olmanson was the next Viking finisher as he carded an 85 (+13), while Murphy finished with an 87 (+15). Wetzel rounded out the Vikings scorers as he shot 88 (+16).Â
Saturday Results
Bethany is now back in action this weekend as they travel to Becker, Minn. for the UMAC Championships which will take place from Thursday to Saturday.Â
