BECKER, Minn. - Every golf team in the conference competed in the UMAC Preview on Thursday, providing the opportunity to face the same competition and on the same course as next month's UMAC Championship at Pebble Creek Golf Club. The Bethany men finished in third place with a score of 309, while the women finished fifth at 440.
The Viking men were led by Keaton Ginter, who carded a two-over par 74 for sixth place. Ginter's round included two birdies on the back nine. Tyson Wicklund was next in eighth place with a 75. Anthony Nicolai took 17th with a 79 and Matthew Olamson rounded out the scoring with an 81 for 22nd place.
Julian Bhardwaj highlighted the individuals for Bethany, tying for eighth place with a 75 while featuring a hole-in-one on the 190-yard fourth hole. Bhardwaj also eagled the 505-yard par five second hole.
The women were paced by Lydia Schmid who took 10th place with an 88. Flora Wegner took 23rd at 101, Brianna Lienig finished 31st at 124, and Kennedy Halper took 33rd with a 127.
Bethany is next on the course Tuesday at the MLC Quad, played at Dakota Ridge in Morton.
