Hall of Fame
Joelle (Pipal ‘12) Julian played in 86 games for the Bethany Vikings women’s soccer team. She scored 37 goals and had 21 assists totaling 95 career points. She was a three-time team captain, and a three-time team MVP. Her Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) honors include two first-team All-Conference selections (2008, 2010), a second team All-Conference selection (2011), and AllConference honorable mention (2007). Also, Julian was a four-time UMAC Academic All-Conference (2007-10) honoree, received the 2012 UMAC Scholar Athlete Leadership Award, and was named to the Capitol One Academic All-America Women’s Soccer second team in 2012.
Since graduating from Bethany, Julian has built a successful wedding and family photography business. She is married to Alex, a Naval officer, and because of his service they have made homes in Rhode Island, Virginia, California, and are now living in Maryland. The Julian’s have two daughters: Summer and Shae. Joelle has participated in mission trips with Kingdom Workers in Malawi and with Christians Forward in Myanmar. She is the daughter of retired longtime Bethany soccer coach Rob (’76) and Lori (’76 Degner) Pipal.
