Kasey (Schlicker) Walker made her mark at Bethany as a gifted two-sport athlete in basketball and golf from 2002 to 2004. On the basketball court, she was a force in the post, appearing in 51 games over two seasons and averaging double figures in scoring both years. In 2002–03, she tallied 395 points (15.2 per game), shot an impressive 51.7% from the field, and pulled down 247 rebounds (9.5 per game). The following year she added another 344 points and continued her steady all-around play, helping lead the Vikings to a Southern Division championship in 2003 and back-to-back Region XIII runner-up finishes. Twice named MCCC All-Southern Division and All-State, Walker capped her Bethany career with All-Region XIII and NJCAA Third Team All-American honors in 2003–04. That same year, she received the NJCAA Region XIII Service and Achievement Award, recognizing her leadership, service, and excellence on and off the court. Walker also excelled on the golf course. A member of the 2004 team 3 that finished Region XIII runner-up, she earned an individual invitation to the NJCAA National Women’s Golf Tournament in Daytona, Florida, representing Bethany at the highest level. After her time in Mankato, she continued her basketball career at the University of South Dakota, then an NCAA Division II program. A native of Lake City, Minnesota, Kasey went on to build a career in nursing, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Minnesota in 2008. She worked as a certified orthopaedic nurse for a decade before choosing in 2017 to devote herself full time to raising and homeschooling her four children—Lucille, Stockton, Pierson, and Rowan— while continuing part time work at Stillwater Medical Center in Oklahoma, where she and her husband, Collin, now make their home. Faith and service have always been at the center of Kasey’s life. She has been active in her church wherever she has lived, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and supporting the ministries of her congregations. Today she is a member of Christ the King Church in Tulsa, where she continues to give of her time and talents in service to others. From the basketball court and golf course to her career, family, and faith community, Kasey Walker has lived a life defined by excellence, dedication, and service. Â
