Caperoon played center midfield for the Bethany men’s soccer team during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. A talented playmaker and leader on the field, he served as the 1999 team captain. Over his two-year Bethany career, Caperoon recorded 15 goals and 28 assists. He led the team in assists during both of his seasons with the Vikings and was named the team’s MVP during the 1998 campaign. Caperoon earned NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American honors and was named All-Region XIII following the 1998 season. His combination of vision, passing ability, and leadership made him one of the top midfielders in the region during his Bethany career.

Following his time at Bethany, Ryan continued his education at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he earned a bachelor of science in management and finance. Ryan transitioned to football and served as the Mavericks’ placekicker during the 2003 and 2004 seasons earning Special Teams MVP in 2004. Following his final collegiate season, he participated in an NFL Combine in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2011, Ryan became a licensed financial advisor and is now a co-owner and partner of Corbett and Caperoon Wealth Management in Mankato. Beyond his professional career, Ryan has remained active in the community, assisting numerous nonprofit organizations with their financial needs. Ryan has also continued his involvement in athletics by giving back to the next generation of young athletes. He has coached youth soccer since 2014 and youth hockey since 2016. In recognition of his work with young soccer players, Ryan was named the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association Boys Soccer Coach of the Year in 2021. Ryan and his wife, fellow Bethany alumna Leah (Wesely), have two children, Weston (16) and Georgia (12) and are members of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato.
